This EA-6B Prowler is a twin-engine, electronic warfare aircraft that was used by the United States Navy. Its primary mission was to perform electronic attack (EA). The EA-6B was introduced in 1971 and retired in 2019, being replaced by the EA-18G Growler. Image by Sander Meijering

This de Havilland DH.110 Sea Vixen has been in service with the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm from the 1950s to the early 1970s. This twin-engine, twin boom-tailed aircraft was an carrier-based fleet air-defence fighter. This particular aircraft was worlds solely airworthy Sea Vixen. Unfortunately this aircraft crash landed in 2017 due to an hydraulic failure. Due to the high cost of repair it's unlikely that this one will ever fly again. Image by Sander Meijering

All green Merlin HC3s from the Royal Navy are being upgraded to the HC4 standard to enhance their maritime capabilities. Some of the noticeable modifications include a folding tail rotor and a naval grey color. The Dutch Helicopter Commando uses the NH-90 as a maritime helicopter. However the helicopter can also be used as a Tactical Nato Frigate Helicopter (TNFH). In this role the NH-90 has some of it maritime systems removed to reduce weight and make space for troops. To protect the helicopter from threads from the ground it has a Terma Modular Aircraft Survivability Equipment (MASE) pod on the right side of the fuselage. A beautiful French Navy SA365N Dauphin of 35F landing at BA103 Cambrai-Epinoy. Unfortunately this airfield has been closed early 2012. This helicopter is used in a Search and Rescue role.

The Royal Navy Lynx HMA8SRU is a variant of the Westland Lynx helicopter, designed specifically for naval operations. It is a multi-role helicopter with a range of capabilities, including anti-submarine warfare, surface surveillance, and search and rescue. Unfortunately the Lynx has been phased out in 2017.

The German Army (Heeresflieger) uses this brand new H145M for SAR duties. The aircraft entered service with Transporthubschrauberregiment 30 as replacement of the UH-1D Huey.

The Royal Norwegian Air Force (Luftforsvaret) bought the AW101 Mk612 SAR Queen as replacement of the Sea King helicopter. This helicopter is in use with 330 skvadron and is mainly in use for SAR duties.
